Presence in Course

I encourage my staff email students as soon as possible. I want the students to feel as if the online instructor is right there. I ask all my instructors to answer their students within 2 hours of a response.

I agree that there needs to be a quick response to students. However, what if a student e-mails their instructor at 2am? Does the instructor have to respond by 4am if they are doing their job correctly?
