Follow Up

I always ask a follow-up question, even if it was "Did you have a chance to review the live chat from last night." A yes/no question can still get them engaged.

Focus on having the students effectively meet the requirements by making the requirements as clear and as straightforward as possible.

I always send the request to my student to engage them into my live chat to be sure that we find max participants!

Hi William,

I have been there. What I find is that once a student meets the discussion requirement, that is it. There is no more participating until the next topic. When a student does not resppond to my follow up question, I send a follow up to the follow up stating that I didn't get a response and thought they may not have seen the question. If that doesn't work, I send an e-mail directly to the student letting them know that there's a question that needs a response in the discussion. After the shock wears off, the students responds with an apology first, then the response.
