Noisy Students
What are some techniques for dealing with the noisy student? Please explain.
John: Good way to look at it. Yes, the noisy student self centered and takes the "energy" out of the class. This is a waste of precious time and tuition.

Keeping the noisy students engaged in a proactive manner can often redirect their energies. As you indicated in another post, "A great way to keep students engaged and coming back is by asking follow-up questions and assigning small readings to encourage them to delve deeper." Additionally, private e-mails reemphasizing classroom netiquette, policies and expectations may also be useful.
