Managing E-learners behaviors in the classroom
According to the video clip I watched about different types of students in the classroom, it is the instructor's responsibility to manage the his/her classroom. Below is what the video clip said;
Learners will bring with them into the e-learning environment, behavioral traits inherent to their personality profiles. While the behaviors are no different from those they exhibit in the traditional classroom, the arena in which these behaviors are manifested is indeed quite different. In the traditional classroom, you can observe and immediately modify or correct undesirable behaviors.
Emanual, I agree wholeheartedly that it is the instructor's responsibility to manage his/her classroom. I believe that when instructor's set the tone in the very beginning, this eliminates a lot of behavioral issues that could possible occur if the instructor did not set the tone. It is also important to inform students of online netiquette in the very beginning so that they are aware of what is and is not appropriate in the online environment.

I agree Emmanuel. Regardless if students are traditional or e-learners, they still possess their inherent personality traits and will bring them into any environment. Our job as the instructor, whether in class or online, is to manage the interactions and the responses.
