With regard to EL102 content so far, I feel that "presence" is the crucial term for student success. We have many tools to make ourselves present to students, including but not limited to video. Finding meaningful ways to give feedback and increase instructor presence is my goal for this portion of the course.
It is crucial that as an online instructor there are various ways to maintain class interaction and communication. Not only is it important to become comfortable with CMS but, engage and constantly encourage our students as they regain confidence.
I have learned the importance of intellectual interaction.
I intend to ensure there is intellectual interaction by ensuring the student online interaction examines what they learned from the lesson. I can ask questions in the midst of the lesson, ask students to give examples based on what they learned, or create an engaging activity that requires students to reflect on what they learned.
To familiarize myself with all the details of the e-learning system and try to put myself in the students place to anticipate what questions they may have.
Familiarity with the course structure and knowledge of the ways to deliver course content matter.
I learned that being knowledgeable of the course management system;all of the components and how they work is the key to being a successful online teacher. Not every teacher will approach the information the same but as long as you stay on topic and know the course outcomes, it will be ok.
Online learning is very accomodating for the instructor and the students. It would be a great experience to provide education through online. I need to familiarize myself and know the platform so my delivery method would be efficient. Some of the aspects could be challenging but once everyone has hands-on experience the online instruction would be a great opportunity.
I enjoyed learning about Course Management Systems
I enjoyed learning about course delievery and compenents of a typical Course Management System
The most important thing I must do as an instructor is to find out what my students needs are and try to accomodate their needs.
With e-learning structure, it is important to communicate effectively to our students. As an instructor, we have to be available to our students, support online learning, and provide the best education we can.

Consistency is important factor like what the course said learners have a higher sense of comfort & security when they know that someone will be there to support them.
Online courses should be set up in a manner where students have easy access and something that keeps them focused such as interactive discussion boards and reading assignemnets.
Key to success is being familiar with the platform ahead of time and being able to help students learn how to navigate it as well and troubleshoot as needed.
I learned that although the material being delivered is the same, the method of delivery can and will vary per instructor delivering it.
The online experience has certainly come a long way in just a few years from what I had experienced in past courses. The structure has become more student orientated in a multimedia approach and with more regard to the different learning styles of the individual, rather than a "Stefford" style in which all must be the same. I have also note that access to the instructor and the timely response to questions has moved to a greater importance. I believe that it can still be intimidating for some students at first, however the introductory modules have to a greater degree reduced the fear.
So far I have learned that instructors need to have knowledge of the course and be organized. I would say a time line would be very useful for new on-line instruction.
It is important to provide both content and technical support to the student. As an online instructor, we must familiarize ourselves with basic troubleshooting techniques to provide timely assistance to the student.
I have learned more about the e-learning environment and how I can become a more effective teacher while utilizing this.
