24/7 Communication Technology

In order for communication technology to facilitate learning and encourage maximum participation of students, there must be 24/7 support to make sure that any student's communication technology concerns are addressed immediately.

The 24/7 support is essential, but we have to work hard to provide that. In some classes we may have outside support to help us as well. It is important, as you noted, to keep that line of communication open with students. Thansk!

I think that the 24/7-technology support is a great and well-valued necessity. Not certain how realistic it may be for all applications in reference to the size of the school? The basis of a support system should certainly be in place, and the access should exists from early morning late to evening hours. More so though, I think it is very important for the instructor to make the students aware to alert them of any lack of technology access immediately if it prohibits assignment submission. To consider the instructor should routinely access email the limited ability to perhaps have a 24/7 technology support line can be overcome by simply notifying the instructor. Despite the problem, as long as the instructor is aware, appropriate decisions can be made to rectify submissions thereafter technology support alert.

Technology support for students is very necessary. I think many instructors do that will the assistance of a publisher or maker of some of the technology, but if the instructor is a "one man shop," that's very difficult. Thanks!
