Encouraging students to have good communication skills
Helping students with communication is essential in online courses. Some students may need more encouragement than others but it is essential to motivate and set proper guidelines for appropriate online course communication. Encouraging improvement for communication skills in online settings may be necessary (Foronda, Gattamorta, Snowden, & Bauman, 2013)

Keep working toward helping students understand the importance of good communication skills.
Cory, I find poor communication skills to be quite prevalent among today's students. And it is frustrating to me because I take the time to edit portions of their posts to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions - quick tips - or something like that to help students become better communicator? I always put in my syllabus that proactive (instead of reactive) communication is best.
One of the biggest challenges is working with students with poor communication skills. This can become challenging for the students and instructor.
