Synchronous tools are important aspects to enhance students learning and comprehension. Using the tool call "join.me" is a valuable asset to the LMS. This application allow the instructor to gain access to the student browsers. This comes in handy when instructor need to help student navigate their Blackboard or LMS. IE... showing student how to use the drop box.

I tend to agree with you. The couple of times I allowed a couple of nontraditional students call me to talk about the course the quit going to the discussion and wanted to use only the phone. I want students thinking about community.

Join me great! I find the problem to be students even calling in at all. I have spent many hours in a synchronous lab and no one calls in, even if they are not doing well in the class. It's hard to find a time that works for everyone, but the students don't even ask for another time option. That can get frustrating.

I am going to be using join.me as a tool to show students quickly how to do something. You also may want to start creating what I call just in time (JIT) modules that show students how to do something for your course. I have them and embed them in my courses.

I agree that "join.me" can be very beneficial in an online environment. For students who are having difficulties navigating in the classroom, this can be helpful for the instructor to show the student what to do.
