Check before sending students to social media

It is important to check the social media you are forwarding the student to. For example the student may spend time in different topic that the one you intent to focus. At the end the student will waste time and not getting what is required to get

Another thing to consider, particularly when using Youtube videos, is the suggested content that follows. There are times when the suggested content is highly inappropriate. If you embed videos vs. sharing the link, you have much more control.

I agree. You may want to develop a tutorial regarding the evaluation of the material in a social media site. Using a rubric as the evaluation tool will help students in developing their evaluation skills.

I agree with you. I always research and ensure that I understand the content of any social media that is shared with my students. I have found that it has been very helpful in spiraling their learning. It often leads to more in-depth discussions during our weekly discussions threads.
