Free Tools
With the free avail of tools such as Jing, Magisto, etc.. there are many other options where the content can be controlled within the LMS itself.
That is good info. I use Jing everyday -- and have shared it with my staff -- but only for capturing graphics. I will research it's other capabilities.
Eileen,
Look at Jing. It has small free time but is very reliable and my students have used it.

My various Us are really limited in the technology that's available outside of Blackboard. The help desk at my primary U suggested using Vimeo or YouTube for posting lectures. Vimeo is working fine, but of course, I probably should be paying for a commercial account. (I'm currently skating by with a personal account.) I'm surprised there aren't many other options, but then, this particular U is very traditional and only started offering online classes in the past couple of years.
I plan to check into the resources mentioned in this module, but are there any other free sources you recommend, especially for posting lectures? "Free" is the operative word here.
Scott,
You make a great point. If there is something I want to do using technology, I always check the ability of my LMS. It makes it easier for my students and for me. That doesn't always work, but that is my strategy.
