Non micro-blogging instructor
I can see how micro-blogging would be helpful in the classroom. Are there any tutorials that would help an instructor understand how tweets work?
Dr. Kimberly,
It can but don't add it to your courses, replace another assignment. I find instructors add to without taking away and students become overwhelmed with the work. It will take the first time. . . .

I opened this thread thinking there would be more instructors here who do not (or have not micro-blogged). Instead, I am happily surprised to find great resources to help me incorporate micro-blogging in my classrooms.
I must admit that this appears to take some time on the front end to establish in order for micro-blogging to be successful.
Kimberly,
Why should you reinvent the wheel when the wheel is much better on YouTube! I find so many great resources that provide wonderful learning activities for students.

I agree that using Google or even YouTube can help you with finding some strategies.
Jean,
Thank you for sharing this site. I have bookmarked it myself. I will use this with my fellow instructors.

This is a link with images on how to microblog
Let me know what you think?
Thanks,

Donna,
Yes, it would take some thinking to create a project that encompasses tweeting. You would need to create some supplemental material to help those not comfortable with the app to learn it but that could be done with tutorials.

Just wondering how beneficial Tweeting would be for the students...even with the list of activities provided. This would definitely take some time to get used to in the online environment. Some students are really technically challenged while others are extremely advanced. The rubrics provided good insight for assessment. Tweeting in online courses will most likely be challenging!
Michael,
You might just try googling or looking on YouTube to find strategies.
