i have found that the students will do the online work when they realize that you are monotoring their progress. Getting online and responding to their posts also shows them that you are interested in their progress.
Teaching on;ine courses are demanding of the student and we must prepare them to succeede by helping them create time lines and study schedules. They will need guidence and probably an ocassional nudge to keep them moving and make sure they are succeccful.
I learned that setting expectations is cruical to a students sucess at the beginning of each class. In addition, my students with disabilities may need more formative feedback before assignments are due to increase there level of understanding and success.

I learned that sef analysis is important for the student as well as the instructor in order to assess online success.
Instructors should analyze their teaching style, strengths, and weaknesses. It is important to acknowledge them, utilize them, and, if necessary, improve upon them to become a better teacher in the online environment.
Remote learning still requires an interaction between the teacher and their students, our subject matter expertise must not be devalued because we are not face to face.

I do believe that a survey questionnaire is a good tool for preparation in the new eviorment of both on line and F2F learning, i am currenting using both technique.
Student disabilities something to be aware of. Perhaps a student has a learning deficit that has been undiagnosed, and has been labelled or sadly, self-labeled as dumb or a bad-test-taker. Identifying the students early with an evaluation is a good idea to get the resources needed.
Online classes need to be structured and the instructor needs to keep in mind how much time students will be spending on assignments, material, etc.
This module brought up a great point. That online learning is not the easy way out, it takes a lot of dedication.
I learned the importance of accomodating my lessons to my students, especially those who suffer from disabilities. Time management and motivation are key! Setting goals for my students will help their time managment and the satisfactory feeling from good grades is sure to benefit them by improving their motivation.
Knowning about intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivations of students helps me identify the needs that certain students may have. I've always felt that students were different in what really helps them get through the school work. Knowing and being able ot identify these specific traits helps me find ways that caters to their motivational styles.
Preparation is key to any success. The better prepared the instructor, the more detailed the students will be.

It is important as the online instructor to design your instruction for an audience that reaches all learners. In addition, it is important to motivate all students so that they will be successful in their online course. Finally, as an online instructor, it is my responsibility to encourage my students to think of time management as an essential resource in succeeding in the online class.
I have learnt from this course that there are different factors that can dictate the sucess of an online studnet. Self-motivation allows a learner to become determined in terms of completing all online courses, attending chat groups and meeting the requirements and policies of online classes. Time management allows students to avoid missing any online classes that are relevant.
I learned that students may come with different reading, writing and technical abilities, therefore it is crucial to get to know your student needs and their abilities.
As an online instructor it is important to review my existing online readiness and that of my students. I need to think about my specific course, technology and assignments and prepare for it, as this may help me identify the kind of online students I am teaching; including those with learning disabilities.
