Yes, when I taught an advertising class, students had to develop ad campaigns for television, radio and print media. These became a part of their student portfolio.

You do have a difficult task. You may have them to use ethical decision making to help make a realistic connection.

I have had difficulty using authentic assessment in my class, as I teach a general ed class that isn't directly connected to the main program my students are in. I do have some questions that have the students apply what they know about my subject to their course of study, but it would be difficult to have a larger project on that.

Isn't it neat when you can see how students can choose their best work? That is what I like about authentic assessment.
