Taking the time
One of the largest challenges, for me at any rate, is finding the time to sit down and plan out the meeting itself. Holding the meeting is usually not the problem but I think I could get more done if there was time for proper preperation before hand. Having an outline of how to create a meeting will go a long way in helping to generate more effective meetings.
If you need to practice conducting a meeting I can have that arranged.
I like to send an email to those who will attend and ask what they would like to have discussed at the meeting.
I like to work from a daily to do list, after checking things out making sure everyone has what they need to be successful for their class I sit down to go through my e-mails and create a checklist, when I have a meeting scheduled I create an agenda right there as my meeting to do list and send that out to the faculty.
