Positive Feedback in reverse
How should one handle an individual who disagrees with the feedback you provided?
Here are a few of my ideas...
Listen to the concerns of the individual
Share you own concerns without personal attacks
Find a way to compromise by asking the individual what they would do if placed in your position.

accept that everyone has their own way of seeing things and respect their right to disagree. However, you, as their supervisor, still has the right to request a change in their behavior.
There are some people who will never be able to accept feedback, positive or negative. Compromising doesn't occur, b/c that individual doesn't recognize the importance or feedback or in some cases, doesn't recognize your authority as a supervisor or in the area in which you are supervising.
I worked w/a teacher who had no formal education as an educator, but had great content knowledge. Her lack of education as an educator created strife between us, b/c she didn't believe she could improve as an educator by learning how to be an educator.
She lost her job when her job description was re-written at the bequest of my supervisor. I have no idea how her replacement is doing as I am no longer at that school either.
It can be hard to admit mistakes, but as instructors, we must be ready to accept when we make a mistake and not let pride get in the way of a quick apology and correction.
On the other had, we can't just fall into the "customer's always right" mentality. We must still work to defend the integrity of our disciplines by providing honest and helpful feedback.
