Good reminders
This lesson reminded me of my own nonverbal communication skills and will make me take note of how I am reacting and acting towards others with what I am saying beyond my verbal message.
I rely a lot on non-verbal communication during lectures and even in my lab. My students are able to read my facial expressions to see if they are doing the right thing.
I think many of us can detect non-verbal communication techniques better than others. Perhaps we are born with it, but I am always drawn to someone's non-verbal behavior more than verbal communication. I have twin Autistic sons that we spent a great deal of time teaching eye contact. We accomplished this, but it made me more aware of how you read non-verbal cues from others.
I really appreciate the pointers discussed here and they remind me to take note of my own nonverbal communication skills which I honestly sometimes forget.Thank you.
I never knew about non verbal, this is very good information for me.
I like to show everyone my attention when I am spoken to and I like when someone listens to me. Listening is a major reaction needed for communication.
I agree the look you have on your face is most important. Also, the way you carry out your job.
I agree. I have been told before that you can always tell what I'm thinking by looking at my face and I am always trying to work on that and learn to hide the bad emotions.
THAT IS SO CORRECT. I ALWAYS TRY TO REMEMBER THAT WHEN VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL ARE IN CONFLICT, THE AUDIENCE WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE THE NON-VERBAL
I agree. I sometimes forget that the non-verbal communication gestures are often times more important than the verbal message.
