Coaching
What differentiates coaching from advising ?
Sheniqua,
and also with the coaching is the great use of powerful questions to help the person think through the learning experience.

I agree. Coaching follows more of a supportive path. In this role, a person helps an individual to identify, define, and redefine their strengths and areas in need of improvement. In an advising role, a person acts more as a director and delegator, lending specific advise to address specific issues.
Maya,
this is a good question. In my opinion, coaching is more helping the other person discover their own path or plan through powerful questions & insights. Advising is more of the mentor type of position where I am giving fairly specific advice.
