I agree with you. I like to ask questions and keep the class as involved as possible. also i noticed that letting them take breaks also helps retain there attention.

I like to periodically break them into pairs to discuss a particular point or topic. This forces them to engage more with the material. Another way I like to get them involved is to use real life stories & illustrations, this way they can see how this information is used in the "real world." Case studies are also a great way to get them involved & view the material in another way.
