Practice your Presentation Skills

I enjoyed the organization tools at the end of the subjects. I know this will help me when I practice on my presentation skills. Being able to speak professionally in front of our students should be a high standard as instructors.

Chad,
yes, the practice really is important to help things run smoothly & prepare for problems.

Ryan Meers, Ph.D.

I think this is one of the key elements in preparing your prevention. When I give professional presentation to large audiences, it is the practice I do ahead of time that make my presentation smooth in delivery and makes answering questions a simple process.

This training will allow me to organize and structure my presentation. I understand how delivery is an important part of the presentation, and being prepared will help me become a better presenter.

Nina,
this is a great idea & while not the most comfortable can be very helpful.

Ryan Meers, Ph.D.

I completely agree. Most times I don't have an audience to practice in front of so I practice in front of the mirror and say things out loud as much as possible.

Nina,
as much as well dislike practice, it really is vital.

Ryan Meers, Ph.D.

I agree that practicing your presentation skills allows you to get better each time. I have learned that I needed to incorporate who I am and my personality into my presentations to make me feel comfortable when speaking.

Brad,

this is a great idea & statement. The practice really can help you identify those less important or bad ideas.

Ryan Meers, Ph.D.

I find that practicing a presentation doesn't guarantee that you will discover the right presentation but rather the wrong presentation. It is better to weed out all of the ideas that seem to be relevant and then dismiss them if they don't help to affectively present your overall concept.

Speaking professionally is something we get better at the more we do it. But it is important to do in front of students. The students are evaluating you and if you expect professional and quality work, then as an Instructor you have to give the same in your presentations.

Yes, presentation should be a high priority of an Instructor or anyone that is required to do public speaking, because you want to positively impact your audience.

Theresa,
glad that they will be helpful & you are correct that as instructors we should be striving for the highest standards.
