Feedback
Feedback can be hard for all parties involved. It is very key that all parties that are involved are on the same page.
Feedback does not have to be hard if you get everyone involved. Having an open-door policy and informal meetings where you ask for suggestions, opinions, and input can often lead the discussion and provide a means for your subordinates to be heard. Sharing and expressing thoughts and ideas strength relationships and can be very productive and a great learning experience for those who are less experienced in this kind of approach. Although there are some who may not feel comfortable about this approach in the beginning, in time, be share ideas when they do feel more comfortable. Modeling this kind of behavior eventually works and give feedback more of a two-way street opportunity. At least, I have found this to be true in my experience.
