What do you think is an effective practice to lead by example in an area, where you don’t have the expertise?

If we are walking in unfamiliar territory, we need to remember that we never walk alone. We have tools at our fingertips that enable us to learn and communicate. Utilizing these tools whether we need to or not is always the best practice.

Perhaps, talking to people that have more experience in the area where you are lacking in order to find new ways or tips to be sucessful in leading others

Learning as much as possible about the area where expertise is lacking is primary. Secondary is being able to effectively put into use that gained knowledge so that communications are clear and concise.

Always keep yourself above reproach. If you do your best and are sure you have done your research on the subject you will be able to discuss the topic in an effective manner

And don't forget to ask questions directed toward those with more expertise.

The example is to research the area of inadequate expertise and learn about it. No one knows everything, but we should all know how to find the information.
