Managers are leaders in the group
Managers are leading the employees demonstrating ethical behavior and accountability for their actions.
One of the lessons I learned from a dear mentor years ago with regards to leadership and decision making is to treat your job or position as if it is your own company. If you own a company, your actions and the decisions that you will make are always going to be for the best interest of your company and everyone in the company. People who actually own businesses are responsible people, take pride in their work and usually think about the possible outcomes of their decisions before they actually act on it.
I totally agree with you on this. Thanks
This is one area where both managers and parents fail. The "do as I say, not as I do" syndrome is deadly for both managers and parents.
It is such a basic concept and yet so many managers forget about setting the example. It is easy to become stressed out or complacent in the work place and not be aware of the fundamental rules of leadership.
