Leadership

I have seen many types of leaders. The best ones know themselves and bring their employees along with them.

I'd suggest that good leaders are willing to admit mistakes, to take personal responsibility, to know their strengths and to get assistance with weaknesses

Ultimately I think the best leaders are the ones who can bring their employees along with them because their employees admire them and want to support them and emulate them.

I agree! Consideration must be made for both verbal and nonverbal communication. As a Program Director and Instructor, I have to be very careful that I am leading through positive
re-enforcement and not through negative. Another good note of a leader is to sense when things are not right and follow your instinct.

I agree with this statement. I feel that all of the students can learn from one another and it should be the same way for instructors. Once someone has mastered something in their field they should be able to teach it and extend whatever information to all of the other instructors.

I agree with this statement. Working in a Techincal setting teaching general education courses, it is difficult for me with an Automotive background to stay out of certain topics discussed at the meetings. I have found that it is not in the best of my interest to get involved in these discussions due to the fact these tend to be very opinioned, and emotional topics. I always find myself just sitting in the way side waiting until it is time to leave or actually put in my two cents into the discussion at hand.

Yes I've watched leaders grow not only do they grow, but the co. grows with them and that benefits everyone

Yes, great leaders are very introspective.

Yes, I would agree that reading someone's body language or email language is important, but with so much communication occuring via email, it isn't always easy to accurately assess.

you have to read your boss and know when and what to say.
