Time it takes to finish a project and Deadlines! Even if I have to make up my own-it's the best way to get things done for me.

Alida,
What are one or two factors you consider most often when setting priorities?
Jeffrey Schillinger
Prioritizing is a key componet in every aspect of someone's life. If we are taught at an early age how to prioritize; I feel as adults we would have a better handle on it. It is very hard for me to prioritize, but as I am developing I know it is a key aspect in me being successful.
This happens to me-I'm afraid I'm going to forget about the task before I finish what I've already started or I feel like it's more important that the task I'm working on.
Projects tend to "pop up" unexpectedly throughout the day so I've tried to write them down as soon as I get them and then prioritize those notes.
Sometimes I find myself working on one thing and moving on to another one without finishing the first one. This happens frequently since I get visits from students and requests from my boss and colleagues. I always catch myself and refocus my energy in the one thing I am currently working on, finish it and then move to others.
Jennie,
Work should never be a priority over family and/or personal health. Are there ways to put things like reordering prescriptions on an automatic plan?
Jeffrey Schillinger
This is exactly why I wanted to discuss about this topic, because I have problems to prioritize. I run my Mom's life, my daugther's life, my personal life plus my work responsabilities which I always put first.BUT, then I find myself in the middle of crisis trying to figure it out how to deal with the procrastination of my personal goals which always bring consequences. As an example, I find myself with 2 tablets of medication and no refills for my Mom's and even myself. So, now this issue becomes urgent but they do not support my critical or enabling goals that are also urgent. Without my medication I just can't think straight so I assumed even I have a inmediate work deadline I should do my medical appointment first. What other advice I can have from you to avoid this to happen?
