William,
Procrastination becomes a matter of habit. If you can break the habit your performance is increased and stress level decreased.
Dr. Gary Carlson
Using a fellow member of your team to bounce ideas off it is not only a stress reducer but also a team will the and creativity exercise, and my opinion. It is through the development of teamwork that the workload is spread more evenly throughout the group but at the same time each individual is able to complete their assigned task more effectively, with a minimal amount of negative stress vs. positive. Many individuals are afraid or possibly embarrassed to ask another team member for assistance and this everyone for themselves attitude has created stress in the work place.
Especially and this high-powered environment and society which we have now been placed or thrust into. Each individual has their own stress reliever many who have flocked to the physical aspect of a stress reliever, often chide individuals who looked to relaxation as a stress reliever. Every individual is either conditioned themselves or as been told that this is what they should do to relieve stress. The problem still lies therein with the definition of stress and is stress the same for each person? The answer to that is certainly not. So basically there probably is no universal solution.
I do have to agree that many people full do become highly motivated as the deadline approaches fact there are those 23 hour individuals that will rise to the occasion at the very last minute and pull it out. They often times designate themselves as heroes in that they were able to accomplish the task in a extremely short amount of time.
Can help the question now how much time they spend thinking about the particular task that they had to accomplish prior to waiting to the last minute to accomplish it. Students an online environment who are placed under a severe weekly constrained to submit assignments are under pressure and deadlines to complete and many are able to organize and control there are cavities can submit their work on time while others take the advantage of the extended deadline even if it means the loss of points. A student who does us than simply receives a C as opposed to the grade of a wish they actually deserved.
Many people insist that they do perform best under stress and effect actually create stressful situations in order to perform most affect. Do such an and the question that arises as to why is it necessary to have stress to motivate one to accomplish the task? It truly should be enough that a task needs to be accomplished and is not necessarily need to be a stressful situation. Recognizing that the human mind according to interpretation can only focus on one particular thought at a time, many individuals have do themselves, in my opinion in that they can multitask and their process of multitasking means that they are asking their mind to do and concentrate on more projects at once plan they really should. Is this really stress management, time management or is it just getting the job done. I have found from my own experience that individuals who consistently perform the best are the ones that maintain a constant level of enthusiasm, activity and productivity within the environment with the minimal amount of stress necessary to accomplish these goals.
It is a very good point that each task should have clear expect Haitians which should be detailed as well as appropriate for the particular individuals needs. In today's learning environment often times online instructor nurse our group with ground faculty to attend the same seminars and the outcome of these endeavors does not meet the needs of both group's. So therefore we in my opinion are at the state where we need to develop specific seminars for online instructor yours only and on ground instruct jurors. I realize of this a very but many of the traditional teaching technologies as well as availability of cereals do not and cannot be projected online as they would be in the classroom.
This alone creates stress on behalf of the online instructor for if they cannot break away and assume my own identity in the courses that they instruct and realize that they are in not on ground for the students on the ground and therefore have to adjust her expectation levels can raise the enthusiasm levels other students who a may not be meeting face-to-face.
An obvious advantage to completing a task prior to the assigned deadline is that you can create and design a more comfortable environment to work in so that you may be more productive and produce a clear document are come to a clear decision. By putting back or putting aside the particular goal est. one has a tendency to rush through to meet the deadline and in the process either makes a mistake or misses the point altogether or even worse having to make an excuse. In today's society unfortunately there is no room for excuses
11 procrastinates one does how to make tendency to over think project itself, or the work involved. Obviously by pushing ahead deadlines one has more time to think about the work effort required and also has a tendency to create a larger task than what was originally designed or forget what the original intention was and then design of their particular approach to meet what they remember as being the assigned tasks. Which means one of two things can happen one is that they overproduce where the under produce.
When this occurs then they have a tendency to become disengaged in disenfranchised from the institution.
We love our world time frames which indeed creates deadlines to accomplish tasks. We may have possibly become deadline oriented and keep the deadline in mind when assembling a task order and slowly pushing I had deadlines that do not need to be completed until later in the course of time. What can happen very easily though is that we shift all of our deadlines into one huge pile and then put ourselves on tour a tremendous amount of stress to get the jobs accomplished. People often argue that they perform better under stress; yet as you visit with these people lay have a tendency to constantly exclaim and complain that their workload is too heavy. Perhaps if they created a better balance to their lives they could use a little amount of stress to accomplish their goals as opposed to waiting to last minute and putting the pressure.
Have a student viewpoint by putting on the last minute the assigned tasks generally speaking the average finished product is not as thoroughly researched and or develop as it would have been information taken the time to slowly progressed to the end goal. In a recently attended conference I learned that students have a tendency to keep their personal calendars separate from the academic calendar and therefore are not reminded continually of work that needs to be done in the academic arena. From the standpoint of an educator we are placed on your deadlines which are often and the whim of a particular leadership who feel that we may not accomplish the task unless they give us a deadline. It should be recognized many individuals are self-starters as well self completers.
The process of procrastination is a subject all come to us all. Avid procrastinators have a tendency to actually get the job done but by putting off what needs to be done today and taking the will elder would tomorrow as to creates, in my opinion two types of stress one as they have to remember to accomplish the task and second late they have to put themselves under a state of stress and duress to accomplish the tasks. Procrastination is now the subject of many seminars throughout the country.
Obviously everyone has a tendency to want to procrastinate but in the process can be detrimental product committee, self-esteem and overall constructive behavior.
yaima,
There is good and bad stress. Good stress is what we use to motivate ourselves and comes from our own intrinsic drive. Bad stress is from a trauma or catastrophe. For bad stress we need to implement our best practices to combat any health altering depression or emotions.
Dr. Gary Carlson
In my opinion can be both, because sometimes people work better under stress, but at the same time beacause they are under too much stress they do not use their time correctly, and tend to procastinate.
Mark,
We often even create positive stress. Athletes often set up motivating factors for stress to improve their performance, Bad stress often happens from a catastrophe or trauma that results in a loss. In these cases in is important to use stress release techniques to relieve the health altering events to your body.

I have always assumed stress was a distractor. After reviewing this material I realize that I often do use stress as a motivator and simply never realized it. With this information I think I can definitely take a look at the positive ways I already respond when under stress and perhaps move more in that directions when stressed.
Candace,
This type of stress is often when there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This can be motivating. When we have trauma or personal emotional issues the light at the end of the tunnel may be harder to discern.
Dr. Gary Carlson
Stress can be a motivator to an extent. When we begin to focus more on the problem and allow stress to escalate it then becomes a distractor.
Shawn,
Good and bad stress requires some techniques to relieve the tension. Good stress may motivate and have good results. Bad stress is when there is an increased trauma to your psyche.
Dr. Gary Carlson
Stress is both it can and will motivate most people if they want to acheive something. Stress can be a distracter as it can cause lossed focus, undue worry and decreased effectiveness.
Jessica,
This is a good practice especially when you become overwhelmed with duties and task. It is rewarding to see your challenges be accomplished as you check them off.
