Determing the exact problems to your stress can be a challenge.

If you have so many issues on your plate at once, it is hard to determine which one to focus on.

Ernest,
You are correct. There are good stresses and bad ones. Stresses that invigorate us and motivate and at the outcome is a great feeling is a good stress. Those that make us negative or emotional with sadness can be the worst kind of stress. This is when our techniques to deal with stress need to kick in!

Dr. Gary Carlson

An issue and a "stressor" aren't necessarily the same thing. Prioritizing is one approach to organize issues into a reasonable plan of action. I find that when I evaluate and plan, the issues quickly separate themselves from the stressors. The stressors generally seem overwhelming and not necessarily subject to a direct course of action. For example, the stress that accumulates between two people who have once been in love, but find themselves constantly unhappy with one another. That's a considerably different matter than whether to respond to a managers request for inventory figures or respond to an employees mistake.

Anneke,
Issues should measured in regards to to cause and effect. The issues that have the greatest effect either positive or negevative need to be placed to the front of the line.
