mindfulness meditation
what's your take on the efficacy of mindfulness meditation?
Alden ,
Good for you. Consistency is the key when you know the best practices. Some times we lure ourselves into believing we don't need to use the techniques anymore. Don't be fooled on these pretenses. Stay healthy by best practices.

Thank you for your comments. While utilizing some of the proposed technique in this course, I am experiencing less stress in the classroom and in my personal. I find myself more productive with greater wellness. Thanks!
Dr Carlson and Sara,
I am happy to see that you have brought up meditation. Studies have been done that show great physical and mental benefits for even as little as five minutes a day over a period of eight weeks. It would be great to see such practices encouraged in the workplace, maybe even as a workshop or continuing education seminar.
We all deserve a little peace :)
Kind regards,
Christina
Sara,
We all deserve some moments of quiet and solace. It is a healthy practice.

Hi Gary
Thanks for the link! I'm a big fan of mindfulness based stress reduction, I've actually heard it's one of the few stress reduction techniques that has been empirically tested. Personally, I think it may put psychology out of business. ;)
This is a great forum, thanks for responding and for the wealth of ideas.
Sara,
There has been research on meditation with positive results. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/meditation/HQ01070
There are schools which use meditation in their curriculum.
