Every institution has a procedure to follow. The key is to gain enough rapport with a prospective student by using their name often and relating with what they are saying.

I think it is important to repeat the information they need accurately which comes from me the same way everytime. Remember they are in class together everyday and they talk to each other. so if one person has the information incorrect then all that are involved with the conversation can be confused on what their Admissions Coordinator told them intitally. Which can make us look un professional and uninformed

Completely agree with your comment, Yolanda. I think there are phrases that I have to repeat during my presentation with prospects. This ensures there is accuracy and consistency between prospects and I am being compliant with all rules and regulations.

Tamara,
Credibility starts with integrity and ethics. The school's foundation is built on this.

Sorry for the delay, but our institution is also under the same perspective, these rates are very important for every prospective student. By keeping in high scores is how a institution obtains its credibility.

I order to have consistency and ensure that you have covered all nesscary points and stayed with compliance I believe that it is okay that some words and phrases are consistent with each prospective student. This can be done without sounding robotic. It is important to listen to the student and gain information and insight about them. In doing this you can interject your own personality and develop rapport with the prospective student.

I agree with you and that there also should be some consistency. I think that the imperative points must be said but there is no need to be robotic. We get to build a relationship with the individual to build a rapport.

Melanie,
Every student is an individual. Good communication has to be individualized.

Yes we have to be sure we are giving every potential student the same information as the last however by trying to come to their level with the way we talk and even body language we can make every session different.

Ivy,
It's great advice.

Sara,
They will know it.

Tamara,
We are looked at by our graduation and placement rates. Students want to know they will be succesful open completion.

David,
But for the student, they feel they are the most important person and you are speaking only to them!

Michelle,
Listening and responding without pressure.

Agreed. By developing a "relationship" you garner the trust of the prospective student which allows them to drop down their guard thus, allowing for more open, honest answers to questions.

I totally agree, defining each prospective student needs and goals is very important. this is one way of bonding with them. it also helps to develop a conversation that will take you thru a quick tour in their life, you will be able to learn if this is the rigth fit for them. At the end is not only about enrolling is about completion, that's how you help build up reputation for the intitution that you represent.

Agreed, you need to have a personal interest in each student otherwise they will feel like they are just $$ to you.

I agree. Your conversations need to sound fresh and crisp. You must use great listening skills and build a rapport with the students.
