Other Types of Admissions Training

If a school decides to build its own admissions training program, how does it approach getting this approved to comply with CIH mandates?

Janet,
You are correct in that in order for the training to qualify under the Commission's requirement, it must be approved by the Commission.

Sharon,
FAPSC offers many workshops and speakers at their conferences. Check them out!

Cindy,
I believe that any in-house admissions training to meet the requirements that this training meets, must be presented to the Florida Commission for Independent Education for prior approval of said program and must cover all information that is covered in this training. You might only want to weigh the time/cost factor against the number of employees that must take the training.
Personally, I believe that this course is great to meet the required state training; and then supplement with training in-house that is specific to your institution.

I have worked in the Admissions Field for 27 years in Pennsylvania, I have recently re-located to Fl, what other types of training should I consider to learn about the procedures for Fl? I have found that there are several difference's in some areas

Lee,
Thank you for your posting. This training focuses on the regulatory side and will complement any in-house training you may provide.

We are a small career based school, and I am new to the admissions arena. I originally thought I would be able to create a training program since we do not offer multiple fields of study or have hundreds of students meeting with large numbers of admission staff.
Now that I have started this series, I realize it would have taken hours upon hours to do the research necessary to create a program that would fulfill all the rules requirements and kept us in compliance for our licensing. I am very grateful to have been allowed to invest the relatively small amount of money in my training through this course. Often a decision needs to be made on a time vs. money basis.
