Sales

what is the difference in Salesman and Admission Reps?

As I understand the position,an admissions representative should have a good sence of what it takes to sell as well as a even better sence of what customer service is all about.

On one hand, a good admissions rep. asks a lot of questions. This is the only way that he/she can find out how to best help their prospective students. On the other hand a customer service representative also has to ask questions in order to resolve the "customre's issues at hand.

The goal is still the same, to enroll the student in a program that will satisfy their needs, wants, aspirations, intellect, growth, etc.

So back to the question; a sales person is not so much interested in the person as much as they are in the sale. An admissions rep. has to be able to put the prospect's needs first and then focus on the sale.

Kenneth,
We do not use the term "salesman" in education in Florida. There are admission reps or agents which represent the school and are authorized to conduct business with prospective students.
