Physical Facility Description
Why is a description of the physical facilities of the institution REQUIRED to be included in the catalog?
claudette ,
The physical facility description is very important. The catalog must have this outlined to determined the adequacy of the facility to meet the demands of the program and support of the student population.

it's a 1600 SQF building one floor including 3 classrooms ,1 clinical lab , 1 library,1 kitchen for students to have lunch/break 1 waiting room 1office for administration 1 office and a receptionist area.
Mark,
You have given a great reason for why the facility description needs to be in the catalog. The catalog is part of the contract with the student. They need to know about the facilities prior to enrollment.

People don't buy cars for their engines, they buy them because of the way they look and how cool or comfortable they would be driving one. Looks and comfort are everything to some students. If there are stairs and no elavators, your wheelchair students are out of luck. If there are door knobs and not handles, your handicap 'claw" arm people are also out of luck. A school has to be ergonomically correct according to ADA codes. Many student will not register if these two things are not installed. Please don't think I'm being silly here, I have worked in schools where they did not have these in place and it was a lay suite waiting to happen!
Thatcher,
It describes your location, building, how many classrooms, if you are the 18th floor, etc.
Students need to know that the facility is adequate and meets their needs.
