It is important to be sure that students compleely understand the process and that you will be there for them every step of the way.
Vivian,
We have a responsibility to provide them the most accurate and the most extensive information regarding their education with regard to their career choice..

Students need to be given a thorough description of the program that they are interested in, the expectations of attendance, etc., specific information that may affect their scheduling. Nursing students often work and attempt to keep their job as their number one focus instead of school. It is important to stress that their schedule must be flexible from quarter to quarter and that their class and clinical day will change each quarter. This will help eliminate problems if discussed in advance.
PERRY,
A great idea! The amount of information is staggering and for most, foreign to them. It takes time and development of clear understanding to make sure they fully take advantage of all that is available to them for the best educational experience.

Jessica,
Students connect with admissions representatives from the moment they contact the school. That continued communication and interest in their well being is vital to their success. They depend upon us for information and guidance long beyond their signature on the dotted line.

In entering a new school, the information that you receive is staggering. It is important to realize that confusion is probable, so it is very important to know that your prospect is aware of "things" as the process continues.
You are the initial link, and it is YOU who must ensure that there is indeed proper explanation of all topics.
In fact, I would suggest a check list of topics to review with the prospect prior to the final signing.
It is very important to ensure that student completely understand the process and to be confident that you will be there every step in the way because that reassures the student that they can come to you for any question that they have and be sure that the information that you provide them with it the most accurate.
Sarah,
They are making an important life decision. The more information they receive and the opportunity to further investigate will help them make the choice on their own leading to a higher success rate.

Mariela ,
The student and the school both have responsibilities in the enrollment in a program. Policies need to be fully explained and the consequences of not following those policies outlined. For example, attendance.
Patty Aronoff
Marlene,
It is providing full disclosure and making sure they understand how this decision affects them in all aspects.
Patty Aronoff
I my opinion it is highly important that the student receive the most accurate information about the course in topic due to the fact that the right information can lead a person to the right path in life. With the proper information our prospective students can achieve goals and become something in life and I think that is more important than the benefit of the institution.
Not only are we helping students make a decision that could affect our institution but we are also affecting our students lives. As admission counselors we have a responsibility of informing students on the benefits of a particular career and how this could affect their life. If we properly explain all of our institutions policies properly then our students will have a better understanding of what the outcome will be if they enrolled in a specific course.
We are helping the student(s) with a life changing decision, we are helping them to make the best decision for themselves for the future. So we should have all this wealth of information to spoon feed our prospective students until they make the decision that will make a life change for them.
Marlene,
The student experience should be filled with knowledge and support. They should never feel alone on their journey with your school.
