Can a School Owner also be an Admissions Representative?
As the owner of a small school with a small staff, I am the person who speaks with prospective students. I am also an instructor with many years of experience in my industry both working and teaching. I feel I can very easily and accurately access prospects to determine if the candidate and my school are a good fit and a good match.
Courtney,
For some schools, the owner is the only administrative staff for the school and must occupy all roles. I do agree that we need to monitor admissions staff in what they say and do in order to keep improving our service to the student and remain compliant.

I think that perhaps if the owner cannot take on the role of doing admissions because of their other tasks that they may have to handle. that they should at least sit in on one or more of the admissions interviews to see where our potential students come from.
What caliber of student we are working with, and perhaps find out what their dreams, goals and aspects are.
Hiram,
That depends upon the size of the school. Many small schools often have the owner as the admissions rep as well as conduct other roles within the campus.
Patty Aronoff
I don't think that an owner should be enrolling Students but instead finding ways to generate more leads for the Admission Rep.
Naji,
Many small schools do have their owner as admissions representative. Logistically, it is the best arerangement as well as financially.

Miss Patty,
I think the owner or the manager of a small school should be an Admission Representative for many reasons, especially in a back up situation where the main Admission Rep is not around.
Zonia,
Yes, they can. It can have its advantages and many times is the situation of a small school where staff assume many roles.
Patty Aronoff
From my knowledge, the individual can play different roles. In some cases it's somewhat of an advamtage.
Dawn,
If you enroll students, you are considered admissions. This can be performed by the owner, especially if this is a small school.
Patty Aronoff
Gil,
You are correct. All admissions personnel must take the training as required by rule.
Patty Aronoff
The admission representative is teh person that interacts with the student for the purpose of enroling him/her if found to be qualified for the institution. So I think that if the owner is performing this role then he/she is in fact an adminission representative.
Yes a school owner can also be an Admissions Representative provided they are well experienced and well versed in all aspects of the required regulations. They must go through all the required training as needed to maintain the Admissions Representative title despite their position as school owner
Antonio,
There are many schools where the owner does enroll students. They are just that small and there is no ruling that prevents it.
Patty Aronoff
A school owner cannot be an AR because it is a conflict of interest. It could open alot of doors for fraud and coaching students in getting title 4, or whatever it takes for an enrollment
christine,
Knowing your students and the career opportunities that are available will allow you to find the right match for both student and employer.
Patty Aronoff
Mark,
Many small schools have personnel that handle many different roles. Being an instructor, you bring your expertise directly to the prospective student.

Being in the in the dental field for over 30 + years experience as a dental assistant and owner of a dental staffing agency, there is a direct need for new people to enter the field. I feel with my experience I have the ability to place individuals in the right office that fits their personality and skills.
