The resource notebook
I am thinking that every person required to take this course should have one. None the less it should be standardized for the entire school. For example, a director is required to take this training but if there is a question regarding admissions, it would be better if they had their own copy rather than have to take it to Admissions. This would ensure that the information is correct.
Leslie,
Questions are the purveyors of learning! If we do not ask questions, we are closing the door of learning! Ask!

Asking lots of questions can be one of the best ways to learn different aspects of your job!
Sean,
Great idea! Keep the learning going by having active discussions regarding the material. Share best practices and discover a learning environment.

Amber,
Ask questions! Develop and grow from what you learn. Silos only prohibit learning.

I agree with not enabling an information silo. That only decreases employee proficiency and impacts profits. I was thinking of suggesting using a shared calendar to prevent that. Each department creates their specialized resource packet and it is on a shared drive. It could be handled by having a shared calendar with each department having the same date for revision. That way the all employees have the correct information from the specialized departments and the customers have the most current information.
I could not agree more with both of you. However, I don't think having your own personal copy of the notebook should limit collaboration or discussions when questions or new topics arise. Using the notebooks to create an information silo would surely dampen our program as most of our ideas, innovation, and solutions come from communicating!

It is best that everyone build their own so they can learn as they create.
