I think it's great that we are required to do Admissions Training but do we need to do it every year because your links to current laws are updated frequently?
MARTHA,
It does and also keeps us compliant. Unfortunately, there is no room for not knowing.
Patty Aronoff
I also agree with Suzy . The training refresh and keep us up-dated with the information, and admissions representative needs take on new information as it changes
Norlan ,
Ethics is our solid foundation from which all follows. We need to be always seeking better ways to do our jobs and knowledge is the key.
Patty Aronoff
I feel it's a must to continuosly train. Ethics don't change, yet there are always new regualtions and updates to previous ones.
Ericka,
Change is difficult for many people and we can never say we have learned it all
Patty Aronoff
Continuing Education is of extreme importance in any career role whether it is Admissions or any other position. As far as the Admissions role and continuing education, it is an absolute must. No matter how good you think that you are, you never know everything. Compliance, Rules, and Regulations are constantly changing and they will continue to change. Some people just do not like change and give a lot of kick back when it comes to change and updates of information that they must comply with. The bottom line is you never know everything and updated information and continuing education for your Admissions role can only help to make you better and up to date on compliance and regulations.
May,
We must always be current in the regulations that oversee our students and our schools. There is no excuse!
Patty Aronoff
I believe that all admission staff must complete admissions trainings, because they must be fully up-date about the new regulations
Jose,
Thank you for your feedback. Continuing to develop your role and increasing your knowledge is very important to your school and the students you serve.
Patty Aronoff
What a great training very informative in every way i was able to refresh and learn new things very happy with the max knowledge seminar
Alice,
They can tell! We can tell! Continuing education is very important in keeping ahead of the curve.
Patty Aronoff
I agree Alice, and to couple the knowledge with student understanding will make for trust and also lead to a strong referal base...
In addition to keeping up with rules and regulations. Continuing education provides knowledge to the admission rep/agent and makes it easier to recruit a student. When you are knowledgeable the students can tell.
Kevin,
Continued education is very important. We can quickly be out of touch and provide misleading information.
Patty Aronoff
Lance,
We do become comfortable and forget the details. It the world of admissions, this can become critical in providing the consumer the correct information.
Patty Aronoff
I think cuntinued education is very inportant due to changes in compliance rules and regulations and staying on the top of your knowleg.
I agree with Suzy 100%. While we may have had similar or even in some cases, identical training the previous year, people in general can become complacent in their practices. This can easily lead to forming poor habits such as cutting corners or skipping steps, even if the intention was good.
If nothing else, by redoing the training yearly, we can refresh that which we already know, sharpen our skillsets, and take on new information as it changes.
If with this first mod, I recalled some things I had not seen in awhile.
Suzy,
It depends upon your role. I would certainly recommend continuing education whether required or not.
