Marketing for an institution should change every so often to spark peoples interest in new ways.Companies change their commercials to keep grabbing customers attention in various ways. The more you change it up, the more people you will "speak to" at some point when you use a way that sparks an interest with them.

Agreed! In addition, marketing dollars are a huge part of any school budget. We want to make sure we are getting the most out of each marketing strategy.

It's key to know who you're trying to reach when you're making marketing plans. In your case Kristin, I think you have to look at what type of students you're trying to attract. Are you looking for younger students who are just getting started in their careers? Or older students who are continuing education?

Older students might be more likely to read weekly business journals, or print advertisements. Younger students might be more likely to pay attention to fliers in social settings, or meeting people in person at events. So the first step is really looking at WHO you need to reach. Once you've got that defined, the 'how' is more clear.

Yes! Marketing strategies need to change in order to capture the audience's attention. Research should be done in order to eliminate those strategies that that didn't work.
