Is it good practice to invite active students to recruiting events?
I believe that inviting active students to participate in recruiting events shows the campus school spirit and in a way its a window to see active student satisfaction and involvement.
wan,
They bring instant credibility to the message you are trying to portray. Students loved hearing about other student experiences.

We have also had great success in inviting former students that have gone on to a successful career to participate. Many are more that happy to come in and shart their journey with students.
Anthony,
That is a great idea! Our interaction with past graduates is a great way to keep the name of our school in the arena for both current students and prospective students.

I have always invited current students to participate on panels at big recruitment events as well as talking and meeting with potential students and families when possible. They are real and authentic which really resonates with these families.
All,
I think that is a great idea as well! I have never incorporated active students in previous recruiting events that I have participated in, but as Patty stated, I do agree that they would add credibility to our efforts. Thanks for the post and suggestion; I will be mentioning this to our director to possibly implement.
Hi Margie and Patty,
I absolutely agree that inviting current students to interact with prospective students at events is an effective practice for recruitment. I know this is something we have done with great success. Not only do prospective students get to hear from those that are in the program or institution (which like Patty indicated, adds instant credibility), but they also form relationships with those current students which helps in the recruitment process.

margie,
Agreed! Using current students brings credibility to the recruitment process. Others automatically put trust in those currently in the experience.
