Transfer of credits

Are there any additional resources in regards to finding out what credits are applicable or good hints on how to tell perspective students on how to research this information?

Edward,
Very good advice! Each school has a policy and procedure regarding transfer credit. It is a best practice to take the student to the registrar and academic liaison to determine their individual situation.

When I have a student that asks about transferring credits I let them know that I can have them speak to our academic department for transfer credit information.

If they are looking at completing a program with us and moving on to a new institution I inform them that they will need to contact the new institution.

brandon,
The students must go to the school of their choice in which they want to transfer the credits to. It is up to the receiving institution on what credits are going to transfer.

Kristina,

Excellent practice! You should make sure that the transcripts are valid before excepting any credits at your school.

Sheila (Skyy),
I have not heard of such arrangements. You should check with the State Board of cosmetology to see if there is a program instituted that they except the hours for cosmetology licenses.

I always Have an audit done on there transqripts first.

Are credits transferable from high school students taking cosmetology courses? Is there a test required in the state of cosmetology while in school and transferring hours to the state of Florida after graduation?
