Back to Basics

As a seasoned admissions representative with another company moving to a new opportunity, I have the ability to retake the Online Admissions Training again. For new admissions employees, this certainly provides an invaluable tool, however this is a good way to make sure we get "back to basics" as seasoned representatives as well.

As an admissions employee, we should ensure that compliance is key and sticking with the basics helps us with that.

Magdalena ,

Getting comfortable in your role is a place where often mistakes are made. We often rely on memory and practice to make sure were doing the right thing at the right time. However, we should always check to make sure that we are progressing as we should be for compliance.

I truly agree, seasoned reps like myself get into comfort zones and hit slumps. Going back to basics, it a great boost and reality check.

Alisaundra,

Absolutely! It is easy to develop misunderstanding when we don't check ourselves regularly. Better to have regular training and review of the regulations.

No matter how long someone has been in this industry, it is vital to check ourselves and go back to the basics. Especially if we have been doing this for a long time. We tend to forget basics because wwe may feel that we covered it when we may have forgotten. It comes second nauture to us, or so we think it does :)

Idalmis,
That is an excellent practice. We should go back and refresh our knowledge and not assume we have it all learned.

Michelle,

Great news! Keep up the good work and continue to learn more about your institution and the regulations that govern us.

Zachary,

Compliance is always the first step in admissions. We must provide excellent customer service under the guidance of the law.

After been an admission representative for so manny years , I always tend to every now and then go back to basic ... It helps me been on track and more successful.

As a new hire to an educational institution, i found this information very helpful. I was able to read through the information that was required by the State and make sure that our learning institution is current and up to date with all of the regulations.
