Admission Person and Front Desk Person

How can we limit the work of a front desk person, when we know that they are here to give information. It happens sometimes that they might give information about enrollment.

Summer,

Your front desk receptionist is the director of first impressions. If they don't make a good impression you may have already lost a potential student.

I completely agree, Rita! The front desk person is not trained to be an expert on all of the programs that the school has to offer and all of their details, so it makes sense that the admissions representative will be the one to answer all of those questions.

Gregory ,

Exactly! If they do the right thing then there are no questions. Applicants can quickly realize the person they need to speak with is in the admissions department and not the receptionist.

Rita,
Great response! There is a proper way to hand off the applicant to someone in admissions.

Sandra,
They are the person of first impressions. They should automatically be prepared to hand off the applicant to someone in the admissions department. Training on different situations will help.

Its about training, train to tell the prospect without them felling you trying hide. " the admission rep you have the appt with its train tell you all information you would need to know to make inform decision

The front desk person should always let the prospects know that they will have all of their questions answered by the admissions representative.
