STATE REQUIREMENTS
I think this is a great requirement but all staes should be doing that so the admissions staff are well trained.
Amethyst,
Each state has its operational requirements when operating in their state. It depends on where at the business is conducted.

I'm sure that it's something I will read more about as I progress through this course, also as I receive more training through my institution, but do out of state agents need to work in compliance with their own states statutes? Or do they not apply, as the institution must comply with the statutes in the state it is based in?
I'm not sure if that was linear enough in thought, so I suppose a better question would be, for out-of-state agents, is it necessary to work in compliance with multiple state statutes and requirements, etc.?
Brian,
The rules are there to protect us as institutions as well as the students we serve.

The state requirements are great. They may take some time to complete, but it's time well spent. Each state has different requirements and laws, so learning them will best prepare you for engagement of students in that state. The last thing we want to do as educators is to misrepresent.
Neida,
All post secondary institutions are governed by the Florida Department of Education. The CIE office covers the nonpublic post secondary schools. Remainder of the schools are under different statutes and governance.

"The Florida Commission for Independent Education. This agency's mission is to protect Florida Consumers by providing regulatory oversight to private postsecondary institutions operating within the State of Florida."
Why only the private institutions and do not for all postsecondary institutions?
Rita,
Many states do have the same requirement. It is a proactive approach to remaining compliant.
