Resource Notebook
What do you find to be most important in organizing your notebook?
We keep the most updated resource book in electronic format as well.
Katie,
Oh I like that statement! You have validated in a few words the value of the resource notebook.
Patty Aronoff
As the old saying goes, paper remembers what the mind forgets! As long as you know where to find the knowledge, the resouce notebook makes a great place to store the information, and it never forgets.
Tyler,
The notebook should be a court according to your specifications. Since you are the primary user, how it is organized it's really up to you. That is the most important factor.

David,
Keeping current as part of the renewal of the learning process. We revisit information when we learn new information.
Patty Aronoff
Keeping up to date and organized really helps me stay current with changes in policies and procedures. I also find that keeping copies of information that I use all the time in the front of the notebook. Its useful as a "fast find" for information.
Julia,
Excellent point! The book must be up-to-date. In order to provide the information that is needed it must be current.

Daniel ,
Students want to know that you care enough to find the information for them. It's in the heat of the moment and they need an answer now.
Patty Aronoff
Lonnie,
It also shows that you pay attention to detail. You were willing to take the time, right at that very moment, to find the right answer.
Patty Aronoff
Erica,
Excellent! Having the material available to you when you need it is important to serve your student well.

My resource book helps out with thing i don't use that often. all you have to do is update the book.
It's impossible to know everything and have it at the tip of your tongue. Knowing this, being able to know where to locate the information can be very valuable.
That it is a quick reference when a question is asked that I can't answer right away or cannot remember.
That I can easily locate information by folder tabs. I also like to have reference material available quickly to students.
