Jennifer,
A very good practice to maintain.

Julio,
It is best to state that financial aid is availabe to those who qualify and introduce them to the FA Rep.

All and any questions presented during the Admissions Appointment regarding Financial Aid is deferred to our Financial Aid Department. The amount of tuition is discussed and any private pay options, however, questions regarding loans, grants, etc are 100% not discussed by the Admissions Team.

This would probably be the best method, and if at any time you don't know the answers, just refer them to their student finance advisor.

I agree, admissions should never try to discuss f/a w/ students. They have enough on their plate enrolling the student. It's our job as faa's to educate the students about what f/a is and what they "could" be eligible for.

After reviewing others I am in full agreement as I practice the very same method with students as to the best, most current and accurate information I look to the financial advisor.

basically what we do is either give them extremely basic information about financial aid or we say, "we have a financial aid department that would be able to answer all of your financial questions". if we answer this way we know we are being compliant. this is a good way to make sure everything we do is alligned with compliance.

I do not answer any question that I am not certain of the answer but I definetely direct them to FA and make sure I connect the student with someone that can provide them with acurrate information.

Yes I always direct them to the FA officer here as I am not trained in every detail of FA therefore I should not even answer any questions reguarding FA it is hard sometimes as they want to know right away but I always explain to them that all their questions will be answered once we are able to schedule a time for them to meet with FA

I am working for a small and new school. I want to know, what are the requirements for accessing this kind of financing?

All questions about Financial Aid should be directed to the Financial Advisor. It is always best to keep students well informed about how they will finance their education with accurate numbers.

That is what I understand. Our Fin. Aid dirrector advised us to send all Fin. Aid questions to her.

I don't think we don't answer their questions, what we have to do is follow the guidelines on how to respond those questions based on what our supervisor provides us.
