An idea for Directors of Recruitment/Admissions

After going through this course, I asked myself, is my staff familiar with everything on the Enrollment Agreement? If so, would they be able to explain it line by line to a student if they had too? I felt as it that answer was no, so that brings me to an idea that I had. Why not print these documents off, pass them out to our teams, and create trivia games/tests/contests on their knowledge of these extremely important documents.

Jennifer,
It is a great way to tame the "know-it-all" when discussions take place and everyone gets involved.

I really like the idea of group learning reinforcement after the initial training. The opportunity to share what's been learned, identify potential misinformation, and ways to eliminate confusion are always helpful.

It's important in these "fun" learning activities that they are well faciliated. Often times there is someone who seems to have"all the answers". It is vital that everyone participate, ask questions, and provide feedback, even the newest team members.

I am very new to this industry, and this course is really driving home how criticial it is to have well trained reps. I have two new people starting soon and these are great ideas for getting them up to speed.

Jenny that is a good idea. While I only have a very small staff they all have copies of the enrollment agreement and they understand all aspects and regulations of the enrollment process. This kind of goes along with the premise of cross training in all areas.

I love it! I agree about the staff not being familiar with the document. Then you too have to ask yourself, if they don't know the answer to some of these questions the students have about the enrollment agreement, if students are asking them questions, what are their responses? I love your idea and think that will be in my next training.

Bernard,
It does give a new perspective for the rep and helps to set the necessary boundaries between admissions and financial aid.

What an excellent idea ? Another way of familiarizing the representatives with the enrollment agreement, is to have them sit in with Financial aid and get an overview of this docoment.

Bernard.

Hey Jenny, that's a great idea. Our friend Nick near Orlando has a "Jeopardy" based game that is a little "dated" if you ask me, and could use some overhaul and updating. I think this might be a great topic to use and revamp that thing. Brilliant idea, as usually. See you soon, Paul.

Jenny,
Great idea! Another suggestion is to take turns reading the sections out loud. It's amazing when you have it read to you or you speak the words a different attention span develops.
