Filing procedures

What is the filing regulation in Florida? How long must the institution retain student information on file?

Dominique,
Student records are the property of the state and must be kept in perpetuity. If your school closes, they must be given to CIE under proper school closure.

Students papers must be kept confidential, in order, and accessible to the commission (CIE)at any time.

The filing papers must be kept for a minimum of 5 (five) years.

Sylvia,
Student academic records must be kept in perpetuity. The Commission is the custodian of records and upon closing of your school, the records are to be turned over to the state.
