It is important to have protocol in place to have a great organizational filing system for Student confidential documents.

FERPA regulates that student information must be held confidential unless holding a written release from the student. Your school has taken extraordinary steps to ensure compliance.

We had a "red flag" committee at my previous college where employees would be "cited" for having any personal student information out on their desks. They purchased shredders for every 5-10 people and keyed desks/cabinets for those that did not have them. It was a huge initiative but SO important.
