Advertising & Promotional Literature

Is there a guideline or a tool the Fair Consumer Practice use to determine what is misleading advertisement? What outline do they use to determine what is misleading advertisement?

Michael,
Are you stating personal as in "you?" OR personal as in school?

Patty Aronoff

Does the FCP act preclude you from doing personal self-directed advertising? Can you anything to market yourself to potential students?

Vincent,
You are right on target. Advertisements must clearly display their message without misleading information.

Making certain that the advertisement makes it clear that you are a school what programs are offered if prefered with no misleading job placement promises and now with new requirements listing the median debt and completion rates etc...

Lydgie,
Both are outlined in the rules under fair consumer practices and in standard 11. Basically it comes down common sense on whether or not it is misleading. Ask yourself if it is factual in nature.
