Enrollment Agreement question

Are there times when the enrollment agreement would not be enforced? For example, if a student drops out but you don't want to pursue the student legally, can the institution decide not to pursue enforcement?

Dana,

The enrollment agreement along with the catalog consititute the contract with the student. Once signed by all parties, it becomes binding.

Patty Aronoff

The EA is a binding legal agreement that has been signed and thereby enforcable.

ANDREA,
This is where the refund policy and termination of contract from the catalog play an important role. Your catalog should also have a grievance policy in case the student does not agree.

That is great information. So, it is not up to an individual to allow the students to leave a program without having penalty. Or is there a higher authority?

Elmer,
All stipulations for the dissolution of contract are listed in both the enrollment agreement and the catalog.

Patty Aronoff

Linda,
The enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the contract with the student. He terms of the dissolution of the contract are outlined in both documents.

Additionally, if a student drops out who is international, is there a different degree of enforcement required?
