How can I be sure that the new applicant has understood everything in the enrollment form?
Kendal,
Absolutely! There are many ways that we can find out if the students fully understand the information presented. We went to them to make sure that it is clear.

I do agree that repetition is the best way to confirm students understanding. For me, I know that the best way I can understand is repeating information. Or if the students ask lots of questions.
Enrique,
That is a great technique. When they explained it back to you you can determine whether not they fully understand the material.

The best way I am able to ensure my students understand everything we have discussed is for them to repeat things back to me. I ask them to explain in there words how they understand everything we have talked about and all the requirements for success.
Laura,
This is a great communication tool. You get a quick she if they are understanding the information presented to them.

Melissa,
That is the best practice! When you ask questions back to the student ensuring that they understand. It also gives you an opportunity to repeat information if it is not clear.

Becky,
Asking questions develops the relationship that you need in admissions. Questions provide an opportunity to delve further into the enrollment process and the school policies as you discuss their future.

Ashley,
That sounds exciting! Having a direct path in which to follow makes sure that everyone is getting the information that they need in the order that they need it.

I have made it a practice to go over the enrollment agreement with them and ask if they have any questions along the way.
ASking qualifying questions is the sure fire way and having the packet of information as a resource tool is key.
Hello Patty,
Here at our school we have a particular order that we go in when explaining the enrollment process! This list was created by our corporate office!!

Troy,
It is very important to get the feedback to make sure that the student is understanding the document.

Jacqueline,
Active communication. Ask questions so that they can relay the information back to you. That is the best way to make sure that they understand.

Depending on how it is done, there should always be a terms and conditions section in the enrollment agreement. In my situation, we review this section and I specifically take a moment to ask if the student has any questions about the contract.
Jacqueline, I think that possibly putting a statement on the enrollment agreement saying by signing and or initialing they understood the terms of the enrollment agreement would be good with another statement saying if you are not sure or have questions please ask before signing or initialing.
