School Catalog
The school catalog is an important part of the admissions process. It empowers the student by giving them full disclosures of all that they need to know about the school and their specific program.
Anna Maria,
The catalog outlines all the policies and procedures of your school, give details about the programs and courses. Truly, a wealth of information for the student.
Patty Aronoff
Yes, the catalog has so much information in one place. It is such a great tool. It will be interesting to see someone come up with a digital version. One that the student can sign off after receipt and reading of.
Leon,
It is a requirement of the Commission that every student receive a copy of the catalog. They acknowledge receipt of same when they sign the enrollment agreement.
Patty Aronoff
The admissions representative should take the time to ensure that each student not only receive a up to date catalog with any addendums but that they are fully aware of what and where to find useful information pertaining to their rights and responsibilities.
Nigel,
The students should be informed by a notice posted either on campus or your website. It is not mandatory but is good business.
Patty Aronoff
Do we need to inform the active students with any addendums or updates to the catalogs when they occur?
Delilah,
Of course! The Commission does require that schools provide a printed copy of the catalog if requested. Many schools use the electronic copy format in a quick and easy way. Some schools provide a USB drive with the catalog and program information already loaded for their students.
Patty Aronoff
Is it acceptable for the student to download the catalog from the college website. Delilah
Yolanda,
Excellent! Keep in mind that is a student requests a hard copy, we are obligated to provide one to them.
Patty Aronoff
irene,
Yes, the enrollment agreement has the statement that the student has read and received a copy of the catalog.
Patty Aronoff
I agree that the catalog is a vital part. We now have our catalog electronically and give it to students on a jump drive that they can also use for school materials and personal agenda.
Not only does it empower the students, it also protects the schools. We always have students sign the enrollment agreements after they have initialed that they received the catalogs.
Marcos,
Excellent! The catalog is your guide to the programs, policies and procedures of your school.
Patty Aronoff
I always have a catalog in my folder along with other rules and regulations and admissions paperwork. It became my bible for information.
Alejandro,
The catalog along with the enrollment agreement constitute the contract between the student and the school.
